Moderately priced restaurant with good service in Hanoi

Under the Essence palace hotel is the Gia Ngu restaurant named after the street. They were fully booked the first time we tried to get a table. We boooked for two days later.
Chairs are long but if you ask for a cushion they bring a pillow.
What did I like? Attentive service fron charming girls.
After your starter course they ask if you are ready to eat your main course. Most Asian restaurants rush to clear away your plate and bring up the next course.

Another thing I liked was that the girl serving us put on transparent gloves to show me how to take the rice pancake and spread lettuce and noodles and chop up chicken to roll up.
The chicken in cane juice was soft and flavourful - was great. The noodles were cold.
Dessert was the high point, bananas with flaked almonds in fruit sauce.
I liked the little piece of cake  - please add some flavour such as coconut, and tea both  served free at the end.

What didn't I like? The avocado drink was a great idea but had no flavour and needed a second ingredient.

Most Asians gallop through the meal and leave as soon as they have finished eating. Not us from Europe. We like to linger over a meal and pause between courses.
